David Beers - Certified Civil Trial Attorney
David Beers is the senior partner in this greater Orlando based civil trial law firm. David Beers, a Florida Bar Board of Specialization certified civil trial attorney since 1984 represents individuals in civil cases that involve serious personal injury or wrongful death. David Beers is licensed to practice in all of Florida state and Appellate courts as well as the Middle District of Florida.
David Beers is a 1973 graduate of Florida Technological University, (now known as the University of Central Florida) with a degree in Political Science (Pre-Law). David graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1975 receiving a Juris Doctorate degree. Most of David’s undergraduate education was also earned at UF. David was selected into the Florida Blue Key, the Leadership Honorary Fraternity at UF while an undergraduate at UF in 1971. David was also president of Delta Upsilon Fraternity while at UF and served as a Captain of the University of Florida Debate Team, competing at numerous national and regional tournaments for UF in parts of three seasons . Having graduated from Edgewater High School, David returned to Orlando as a licensed attorney and began employment with two prominent Central Florida law firms for the initial five years of his career. Entering a small firm as a name partner in 1982, David remained in private practice until September, 1998. Representing victims of accidents while also accepting assignments from some insurance companies, David earned the highest rating of AV from Martindale Hubbell attorney rating service for maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. During that time, David achieved board certification as a specialist in the civil trial field, and has continuously maintained that certification for more than 25 years. Less than 200 of the over 86,000 attorneys licensed in Florida are included in that prestigious group along with Mr. Beers. Beginning in 1998 and continuing for the next nearly 9 years, David was the Chief Trial Attorney in Central Florida for a multi-national insurance company ranked third in the world in premium sales as a property-casualty insurer of Fortune 500 companies. It was during that time that David defended cases with millions of dollars requested from the jury . In 2007, David returned to representing victims and private parties as an aggressive advocate for those least able to take on the major companies that David had represented so professionally. His practice contains cases including premises liability, automobile and truck accident cases, products liability, negligent security and many other serious personal injury claims. David has handled in excess of 35 cases in the appellate courts of Florida, including arguing three times in the Florida Supreme Court for clients. Combining this wealth of over 33 years experience as counsel for both parties to civil litigation, David’s extensive jury trial experiences, (approaching 100 to verdict) provides the firm’s clients a seasoned professional’s view of their case along with the personal advantage to the client of personal representation by each of the partners.
Jim Gordon
Jim Gordon is a partner in this greater Orlando based Civil Trial Practice. The focus of Mr. Gordon’s practice is representing individuals in matters involving serious personal injury, wrongful death and employment related matters. He is licensed to practice in all of Florida State and Appeals Courts as well as the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Gordon has drafted appellate matters in both State and Federal Appellate Courts as well as appeared as lead trial counsel in both State and Federal Court.
Mr. Gordon is a 1992 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with an emphasis in marketing and psychology. At the University of Notre Dame, Jim Gordon was active in all aspects of the school. He was a Student Senator his Senior Year on campus and was President of the largest residential hall on campus during his Junior year. Following graduation, Mr. Gordon became an Account Executive with an international marketing corporation for two years where he worked prior to entering the University of Nebraska law college. Mr. Gordon graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1997 with his juris doctorate.
In 1997, Jim Gordon moved from his Midwestern roots and established his home in Central Florida in the Oviedo/ Winter Springs area of Seminole County. His first position was with a small Plaintiff’s practice in downtown Orlando handling varied matters with an emphasis on employment law cases. In 1999, Mr. Gordon joined a firm handling insurance defense matters ranging from serious personal injuries to wrongful death. This practice consisted of premises liability; car and truck accidents; harassment and discrimination matters; products liability; negligent security; lemon law cases; motor vehicle repair act cases, and a wide variety of other matters. In over nine years at this firm, Mr. Gordon represented international companies, hotel chains, shopping malls, construction companies, restaurants, and locally owned business.
In 2008, Mr. Gordon left the practice of primarily representing defendants and began focusing on representing the rights of those injured and damaged by other parties’ negligence. Mr. Gordon joined a practice operated by one of the most prominent former defense attorneys, Richard Weisberg. In August of 2009, Jim Gordon then joined former colleague and friend, David Beers, to open up the current practice with a continued focus on representing those individuals and families involved in serious personal injuries as well as employment matters. Mr. Gordon is known for being an aggressive and honest advocate for his clients. |
